Jason Stroud

Hi, I’m Jason Stroud. I build software people talk to. Lately that’s an AI coach that helps people work through hard feelings.

Senior software engineer in Myrtle Creek, Oregon. Nine years across web, mobile and AI.

Ask me about

What are you building right now?

An AI that coaches people through difficult feelings, using TEAM-CBT. We compared six agent frameworks before settling on one, and I built the system in LangGraph: retrieval over the therapy material, moderation, and memory that keeps what someone shared last week.

On the app side I shipped voice chat, dictation and conversation summaries in React Native.

What did you own at Adobe?

The custom metadata panel in Bridge and Photoshop. I wrote version three from scratch. Enterprise teams, NASA among them, use it to catalog more than a million assets. I also led the move of Adobe Asset Link to UXP, which gave it native Apple Silicon support.

Do you work on the backend too?

Yes. At Kenect I designed REST and GraphQL APIs in Spring Boot and ran the deploy pipeline on Terraform, Kubernetes and AWS. These days it is Python and Rails. I am happiest owning a feature from the database to the button.

Where can I see your code?

On GitHub, including merged work in Bluesky and Twenty. For something I built alone end to end, try Capo, a practice studio for musicians.

What do you do when you’re not coding?

Play sports. These days it’s table tennis, and before that I played volleyball, badminton and soccer, and swam. Sports keep inspiring me. They taught me hard work, discipline, persistence, consistency and focus, and I bring all of that to my work.
